We Made It Up

Ok. Let’s kick this website off with a short statement, with a topic that is covered in greater detail in other essays. Dare to stop running through your life at breakneck speed, following all the rules and destroying your mental health. Dare to stop believing all of the manipulative crap that’s been fed to you your whole life. Understand this…

In this universe there is energy AND there is information. There are the physical properties and processed related to these things. Everything else in your head has been made up by humans, first as an attempt to understand our world, then to control the behavior of other humans. Right and Wrong. Good and Evil. Religion and Politics. Normal and Weird. All are creations of human minds. We subscribe to those creations which tend to help us survive, thrive, “fit in” and feel safe. That doesn’t make them real.

Almost all of us are filled with preconditioned thoughts by those around us, from the moment we are born. It takes a mighty effort to free oneself from these intellectual bonds to see the universe through unclouded eyes.

This is a journey of relentless observation, experiment and questioning what we think we know…until the day we die. It is an odyssey of constant rethinking and refinement, of never reaching the self-righteous conclusion that “WE KNOW”. Because, we don’t. No matter what scientific paths we go down, we will always reach the point where we are forced to say, “OK, but then where did that come from?”. Our universe either sprang forth from something that previously existed or it burst forth from nothing. Either way, ““How?” and “Why?”.

Now, before our religious friends jump in with their creation theories, I say YES, we can not rule out the existence of an extra-physical force. You may call it God if that makes you feel better. For me, even if this is the case, none of the fairy tales currently put forth as the the true word of God, are true. They were created by humans to control other humans, in many cases to the extreme long term detriment of peace and civility.

Finally, before you go crazy at hearing this statement, understand the energy that is YOU is part of this universe. You interact with other energy, every second of your life. You affect the universe. Dare to believe it might even be true that we are part of this extra-physical force, to use your word, we are part of God. If this is true, we actually help make it up, every moment of our lives…now, off we go.
