God

Obviously, there is a power far greater than we humans at work in the ‘creation’ of this universe. Its nature, as far as I can deduce, is currently beyond the comprehension of our species. Is it some physical force for which we have yet to develop a descriptive equation? Is it an extra-physical entity that will elude analysis forever?

Whichever it is, I decline to believe any of the stories manufactured to create the dominant religions of our time. Tales of vengeful deities bent upon eternal damnation for all who fail to comply. Uh, nah…

Whatever it is, with a universe so vast and complex, I doubt the ‘creator’ is super-focused on the inane behaviors of some insignificant bacteria-of-a-species on some remote planet in some far flung galaxy.

I think it quite narcissistic or, more likely, insecure of us to believe otherwise. I think we are so incapable of comprehending the beginnings of our universe, yet so in need of believing our lives have meaning, that we have created God, and then ourselves “in his image” so that we may feel central to the entire purpose of this universe. While we ignore the fact that it has existed for well over 13 Billion years…without us.

So, yeah, the forms of “God” commonly referenced today were, ironically, created by humans, not vice versa.
