What Do We Want?

What kind of world do we want to live in?

AI is here! The world will never be the same. AI is here! The world will never be the same. AI is here! The world will never be the same.

We hear this every day now. New technologies will drastically change the way we live. Old jobs are going away. What will the new jobs be? How will our world, our countries, and our communities be ordered. How much freedom will we really have when all processes must bend to the will of the systems created by the technocrats. Not only will these systems limit the scope of our choices in life, but we’ll also be obliged to pay for them. Hell, we already do.

So, my question today is, “What kind of world do we want to live in?”. Will we yield to the repression of our techno-overlords or will we push back, hard, and work for a simpler path? A path where our lives are not reduced to math, to algorithms, to data trends, to social scores. Will we resist the unending mantra that we must become more efficient, more productive? Will we turn away from incessant marketing machine that constantly analyzes our lives then tells us what we simply can’t live without. Will we dare to live without the machines? Will we have the courage to embrace the entropy? Will we choose greater freedom?

Real life is messy. Will we let it be messy?
